Lakeland Flora

Enriching, warming, luscious, life-enhancing.  Soft, wild florals, freesia, mimosa, green leaves, a taste of pears and apricots, drifting on the calm, warm, hazy air of an Aotearoa New Zealand summer afternoon.

Twelve botanicals, with extracts of sustainably harvested South Island native plants:  mānuka (kahikātoa or tea tree), Leptospermum scoparium, and kōwhai, Sophora microphylla.

Our native plant extracts:  Mānuka oils and honey are well recognised for their powerful health-enhancing properties.  With its fragrant bright-white or pink-flushed flowers and distinctive dark-red centres, mānuka enlivens the shores of the Queenstown lakes, and was traditionally used by Māori for healing and adornment, for perfuming hair and scenting skin.

The kōwhai, our national flower, changes dramatically with the seasons, budding almost overnight on leafless branches in spring.  Considered by many to be our most beautiful tree, its profusion of golden blossom creates a showy spectacle along our lake shores.
